Don’t close your book
Not yet.

Don’t hide those wings
Not now.

For birds
born in a cage
Flying is odd.

So spread
your wings wide

For they are
the strength
that you’ve become.

And when
bad things happen
As they might
come to be

Don’t fold up
Don’t close down

Just turn the page

Not now, buddy!
Don’t close your book.
