the drama
was scary

the pain
was inevitable

I cried

the inevitable
was painful

You ran
because you were
frightened

I ran
because I was
venturesome

You looked at it
because
it was beautiful

I looked at it
because
I was observant

You were moved
by the incident
to empathize

I was moved
by the incident
to act

You talked
because
you wanted

I talked
because
I needed to

You shouted
when you were
cheerful

I shouted
when I was
dissuaded

You smiled
because
you were happy

I smiled
because I wanted
to be happy

You sang
because
you knew
the lyrics

I sang
because it
touched my heart

You loved
because
you felt it

I loved
because
I needed it

You helped
when you were
chanced

I helped
when I was
tossed

You played
good for the
audience

I played
the audience
for good

You have thought
ahead from today
to the future

I had thought back
from the future
to today

You saw the
complication
in life’s framed structures

I saw the
simplification
in life’s condensed structures

You are
from another world

I am
in a different one

Although we are
of the same makeup
in build

Yet,
relative
and differing configurations
