Shades of Your Many Yesterdays

For the shades
of your
many yesterdays

You forced a smile
to hide the tears

For the shades
of your
many yesterdays,
You hid the tears
to appear strong

For the shades
of your
many yesterdays
Your perceived strength
fooled us all

Yet,
we applauded you
like it was for real

Even though
we knew that the shades
of your
many yesterdays,
was only a drama
to fool us all

Sure,
fooling us
you willfully achieved.

And just like a jester
in the courtyard,
we all loved
your enthused drama

But for the shades
of your
many yesterdays,
the feigned drama was too
intense for you

Too intense for you
that the worn facade
became your adapted thorn

A piercing thorn
in the fabrics
of your inner self

Yet, you did
put on a smile
to hide your excruciating pains

And for the shades
of your
many yesterdays,
We cared
too little

Yet,
we applauded you
so loud and lauded
your presented performances

That we couldn’t hear
your deep panting

Damn,
how oblivious have we become
to your deep yearnings
and cravings to be heard?

For the shades
of your
many yesterdays
do scare us

For our deep
digging is solely
for our dissection practice

Simply for our amusement
and a false reassurance
of your quick fix in frames

Sure, in frames
for a supposed fix
of your facial curvature
in smile

Yet, for the shades
of your
many yesterdays
resides deep
the person you truly are

Right in the scared
and torn pieces
of your many thorns,

The thumping thorns
and sharp turns
you’ve locked within
the clustered shades
of your being

Smokes & shades
you’ve created

And
pretentiously covered
in the attractive shades
of life’s acceptable colors

Yes,
this is the shades of
your many yesterdays

The refracted shades
of your presented being
