Not just the
imagination of a day

But the birth of a girl
called
Cecilia Olajumoke Olusuyi

Once described
as the wife
of Stephen Oluyemi Adebayo

But later referred to
as a mother

And now
called our mom

Indeed,
there is an assured strength
in a mother
that’s not always appreciated
when you are young

But as we
grow older and wiser

Our appreciation grows
for the woman
who nurtured us

A special kind
of appreciation

It’s our mom’s birthday today

So we will raise a cheer
to celebrate you
on your being

Our extraordinary mother

For without you
we would not be here

We celebrate your
boundless physical
and emotional energy

We celebrate
your smart mothering

Your clever creative methods

Gently moulding
your beloved children
into strong
and capable adults

On your birthday, Mom
We celebrate
the best thing about our lives

Having you
as our mother

And as we
get older

As we grow
wings and fly

We now see
what it takes
to be a mom
to save the day

And as we
become mature

As we learn
the ropes of life

We see the sacrifices
you made to be a wife
and a mother

Here’s to you 🥂

The wonderful
woman you are

To the mother
whose warmth
is never-ending

To the mother
whose hugs
are the best

To the mother
whose love
never expires

Age can’t touch you
because your beauty
radiates from within
